About Nicole

Nicole Pittman with her Grand-Parents Nicole’s interest in photography grew from her passion for nature and travel. She uses her photos and articles to show others the importance of nature and wildlife preservation. She feels most at home around animals, feeling a kinship words can’t explain. Nicole has traveled throughout the world, having visited Ireland, Costa Rica, Alaska, Scotland, Fiji, Canada, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Mexico, Germany and Jamaica.

She is also deeply proud of her Scottish and Irish heritage. Her family’s Scottish name/clan is Graham. She was lucky enough to visit Ireland with her grandparents and now travels to Ireland every year to connect with a special friend.

Though she keeps the location a secret, Nicole has swam with a wild dolphin for the past four years. “It’s the most amazing experience I’ve ever had. He has taken a liking to me and comes to me just about every time I get in the water.” Even in bad weather, the dolphin hails Nicole and before long, the two become one with the sea. “He looks at me while doing these spins around me really slow and I feel there is a friendship there. One time when the weather was too awful to swim, I stood on the rocks where we usually jump into the water and called for him. He popped up immediately and every time I called for him, he came up, did a jump and let me know he was there. It was like we were playing a little game.”

But far-off places and wild dolphins aren’t the only things that spawned Nicole’s interest in wildlife. As a lizard lover, Nicole gained an immediate interest in green iguanas. She bought one in 2000 without knowing anything about them. Soon she traveled to Costa Rica to watch them in their natural habitat. “I actually did iguana rescue for quite some time, helping people find suitable homes for iguanas. I still do what I can to educate people about how to care for them. My family and friends tease me because every time I go into a pet store, I make a stink about how they don't take proper care of their iguanas.”

Nicole is very close with her family and wants to thank them for all of their support with her photography.

Her articles and photos have been featured in ASU Travel Guide, California Tour & Travel, Nature’s Corner Magazine and Home & Hearth Magazine.
